According to Container News, Maersk and CMA CGM have decided to increase Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for cargo from Asia to several destinations worldwide.
Marseille-based CMA CGM announced an FAK rate increase from all Asian ports — including Japan, Southeast Asia, and Bangladesh — to all Northern European ports, including the United Kingdom and the full range from Portugal to Finland/Estonia, effective 1 August 2023.
The company stated that the FAK rates will be set at USD 1,075 per 20’DC container and USD 1,950 per 40’DC/HC/RF container.
In addition, Danish carrier Maersk will increase FAK rates from Northeast Asia to Australia, effective 31 July 2023, as follows:
